GOOD point about knowing the difference between filler notes and essential notes- that's always confused and challenged me with Mexican tunes. Here's "arboles de la barranca" played in Bb, fiddle part is just a slight variation on the vocal line. There is very little Mexican fiddle music transcribed, and i've never seen it in tab form. A lot of times i just take the melody off of any song and put it on my fiddle (al pie de la tumba, el perro negro, arboles de la barranca), but you gotta know what the filler notes are and what the truly essential parts are. I learned it from a recording by Mariachi Coculense de Cirilo Marmolejo, though many other recordings of this song can be found in something closer to A 440 tuning. The song "cuatro milpas" is an easy old waltz rhythm old song and covered in many genres(banda, mariachi, conjunto).
